Abstract

CABRERA PENA, Karen Isabel. Consumer law: From the classical theory of contract to the new contracts. Rev. Derecho [online]. 2011, n.35, pp.55-95. ISSN 0121-8697.

This article shows how new economic changes have transformed the traditional contract structure, causing the need to establish new legal guidelines that allow the existence of a contracts law under assumptions of economic equilibrium and legal equality. Moreover, it presents an approximation of the current consumer law, the legal developments that have emerged in this topic, and some possible solutions to achieve the goals of free enterprise and private initiative of the parties, when hiring.

Keywords : Consumer protection law; general principles of contract; contracts or adhesion and uniform conditions; new contracts.
